Brand

Use the files and values on this page. Do not redraw the logo or pick colours by eye.

The mark is three stacked layers. The wordmark is "ix" in Inter at weight 650. The lockup is the mark followed by the wordmark. Each file has one fill. Use the on-light file on a light ground and the on-dark file on a dark one.

Clear space and size

Keep a clear space of x on every side, where x is half the height of the mark (10 of its 20 units). Nothing else enters it.

Minimum size: 12 px tall on screen, 4 mm in print. The site footer uses this size.

Logo rules

Use the files as they are. These ten changes are not allowed.

  • Do not stretch or squash it.

  • Do not recolour it. Use the ink of the background it sits on.

  • Do not rotate or flip it.

  • Do not add shadows, glows, gradients or bevels.

  • Do not outline it or draw it as a line.

  • Do not crop it or let it run off an edge.

  • Do not put it on a busy picture or a low-contrast ground.

  • Do not animate it or leave a motion trail.

  • Do not join it to another mark or place it inside a shape.

  • Do not retype the wordmark in another font.

The name

  • Write "ix" in lowercase everywhere, including at the start of a sentence. The docs do the same.
  • Do not write "IX", "Ix" or "iX".
  • Write ix for the product. The company is Indexable, Inc.
  • Commands, flags and variables are code, for example ix new and IX_TOKEN. Set them in a monospace font and do not change their case.

Using ix in your work

This section states how we ask people to use the name and logo. It grants no licence.

You can do this without asking

  • Name ix in articles, talks, tutorials, reviews and comparisons.
  • Show the unmodified logo next to the name to refer to ix.
  • Write "works with ix" or "runs on ix" if it is true today. Show the ix logo no larger than your own, and say who made what.

Ask first

Write to andrew@ix.dev before you do any of these.

  • Say or imply that ix endorses, sponsors, certifies or partners with you or your product. This includes the words "official", "certified" and "partner".
  • Put "ix" in the name of a product, company, domain, package, app or social handle.
  • Use the logo as your own logo or app icon.
  • Print the logo on goods or in paid advertising.

Colour

The palette is one grayscale. Dark is the main scheme. Light is warm paper. The logo has no brand colour: it takes the ink colour of its ground. Red and green appear only for errors and live status. Click a swatch to copy its hex value.
